FEBO - AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - DAY 9

We woke up at 2AM this morning to catch our AMS flight at 6AM. Dr. Kay prescribed me Vitamin C for my cold, so I got two pure orange juices and I actually feel a little better. Having more sleep helped as well because we went to bed so early.

We got to Amsterdam, and are in a hostel with 18 others- Our largest shared dorm!! We both tried to go to museums today but they need you to book everything online now- The museums are packed and sold out. Instead we got FEBO kip burgers (chicken burgers), and saw the sights. I know you're laughing at this because we fly all the way to Europe, and all I want is their local junk food. It's the best junk food I've ever had...And I'm really glad it doesn't exist in the States- I'd have no self control. I booked a ticket for the Van Gogh museum tomorrow morning and Kay is going to try to go to the Anne Frank museum before our train to Bruges at noon. I'm thankful to know my way around a bit here after many visits to see Uncle J., Uncle R. and my good friend, Danielle. I'm also glad to focus on one museum instead of going after the Anne Frank Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and the BANKSY Gallery, all of which I've already seen. The only thing I've missed now after planning to attend the Van Gogh Museum, is seeing the tulips in the Spring. I don't know how I always manage to come here in the Fall or Winter.

We met up with Uncle J. and Uncle R., and got dinner with them. Kay and I of course tried to pay, but they refused. We’ll have to get them back when they visit us in the States. Anyway, dinner was delicious and it was so wonderful to see them! They’re seeing Don Quixote at the opera tonight.

Kay and I are going to try to get stroopwafels and caramel waffles before we leave tomorrow. I showed her the Red Light District- Another thing she was experiencing for the first time. Now we're in a hookah bar. No worries, we're just doing the charcoal like in the Middle East, but not inhaling like in the West. I'm not just telling you what you want to hear...We're actually here because it has WiFi and the hostel WiFi is trash / non-existent. I'm coordinating with Christopher, *(my cousin), to meet with him when we get to Switzerland.

More tomorrow!
